Mozambique currently has just over 56 safari operators conducting hunting tourism activities in Official Hunting Areas, hunting blocks in the Niassa Reserve, game farms, and community-based programmes such as Tchuma Tchato and Chipanje Chetu.
AMOS currently has 22 members operating in different parts of the country. These operators work diligently to conserve biodiversity and support the development of the association in Mozambique.
AMOS works to promote Mozambique as a preferred hunting destination and support its members by providing valuable information about the hunting sector. It also creates networking and visibility opportunities for professional hunters and safari operators, encouraging the exchange of knowledge and ideas.
Collectively, members of the Mozambican Association of Operators and Safaris (AMOS) benefit from stronger representation before public and private institutions and other organisations relevant to the sector.
Through AMOS, members have the opportunity to participate in discussions on issues that directly affect safari operations, hunting, conservation and nature-based tourism in Mozambique.
Active member participation enables AMOS to submit contributions, proposals and recommendations concerning legislation, regulations and sector policies, helping improve the regulatory framework and create favourable conditions for the sustainable development of these activities.
Members can benefit from sharing relevant information on legislation, regulations, opportunities, sector activities and other matters of professional interest.
In collaboration with training institutions, national and international partners, and other specialised organisations, AMOS seeks to promote and facilitate professional courses, training programmes, seminars and capacity-building initiatives in line with the needs and priorities of the sector.
AMOS membership is open to companies and individuals, Mozambican or foreign, who are involved in hunting activities or support the association's objectives.
