Tropical Beaches

The country has approximately 2,700 km of coastline, with numerous beaches and marine ecosystems of great tourism and environmental importance (Ministry of Land, Environment and Rural Development, 2016). Coastal areas offer opportunities for activities such as diving, recreational fishing, marine wildlife observation and beach tourism.

Sport Fishing

Fishing is the activity of searching for, catching or harvesting aquatic species, including operations related to the preparation and use of equipment to catch them.

Sport fishing is practised by duly licensed recreational anglers, generally in competitions and in accordance with specific rules and regulations, with the aim of achieving records, winning trophies or catching target species.

In Mozambique, sport fishing is an important tourism activity, especially in coastal areas, and can be practised from boats, underwater, or from the shore.
